&lt;div&gt; I don't know if this is the place to describe my problem, but here it goes. &lt;br /&gt;
OS: Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS&lt;br /&gt;
ALSA version 1.021&lt;br /&gt;
Audio card: Ceative Audigy 2 zs &lt;br /&gt;
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GT240 (latest install)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Before installing the video card above, I had NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS. ALSA recognized perfectly the Audigy 2 zs audio card and everything was working OK. I had to replace the GeForce 8400 (became defective) and installed the GT240 and now, ALSA does not &amp;quot;see&amp;quot; the Audigy card. For audio, on the /proc/asound/cards/ directory it shows:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
0 [NVidia  ]: HDA-Intel -HDA NVidia&lt;br /&gt;
              HDA NVidia at 0xdfbfc000 irq 17&lt;br /&gt;
etc.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There is no entry for the Audigy card even though it is part of the hardware recognized by the OS. Don't have an idea why ALSA stopped recognizing mentioned hardware.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
